Re:1986 Saab 9000 turbo 5-speed
Due to broken motor mounts (bottom), the rod coming out of the transmission
sheared off the the shifter coupling. The rod looks like it was welded to the shifter coupling, and that's where it sheared. I was wondering how hard it would be to remove the rod (transmission side), so I could replace it with another one; if I could find one. Maybe I could weld the rod back on the coupling, maybe not. I know the motor mounts should have been fixed, but I can't help that now. I'd just like to know how far up the river without a paddle I am. Any information, ideas, or Plan B's would be appreciated. The car's got 240K plus on it, and I'd hate to witness its demise now. Thanks
