Since you say cam, I am assuming it is up by the valve cover. The cam doesn't come out on the driver's side, so I am assuming that what you're seeing is weeping from where the distributor shaft would be, if there was a distributor.
I believe that all you need to do is install a new valve cover gasket. They do die over time. I recommend that you use a good sealant on the gasket - I use Loctite 518. Some folks don't use gasket sealants. Your choice. I go for as much in the way of belt and suspenders as I can.
A valve cover gasket is about $20 or so. It is a two piece gasket.
