For me the process was fairly painless. I ordered the kit from Genuine Saab (along with a couple of minor parts that needed replacement), and gave them to my local indy Saab mechanic to install. Pick up the car a couple of days later and take it for an adaptation run.
As for what the stage 3 kit entails, I got the full 3" Exhaust (it does not come with a catalytic converter and I needed to have a 3" one made.), a Stage 3 ECU that took a few weeks to get here from Sweden, a K&N air filter, and a spring for the wastegate actuator diaphram. My Actuator was very rusty and my indy said it was not worth taking apart to install the stronger spring. Instead, he put a stronger spring on the Arm. I'll probably get another actuator and have the spring put in. Taliffiero Saab said they'd put it in for free if I sent the actuator to them.
The car spools up much quicker now and takes off in 1st like you would not believe. When in 5th, I have a lot more power available and don't need to down shift to pass. The exhaust has a pleasent deep note, that sounds like my wife's new 9-3 aero.
I did notice a bit of a rattle from the exhaust, and I'll have a muffler shop check out the mounting, in case my indy missed something. They are great, but do not specialize in exhaust systems so it is possible.
Next up is the suspension, with new poly bushings, Koni adjustable sport shocks and a new transmission mount and upper motor mount. That should be in a couple of weeks after all the parts get here.
