Hi all,
Its been my experience that you cant assume because a turbo has no shaft play and spins freely that it is good, i recently had my turbo seize because the previous owner of my 9000 must have done very infrequent oil changes with crappy oil because there was so much coked up oil inside the center housing that it stopped the shaft from spinning altogether. Anyway my point was i bought a 2nd hand turbo with no shaft play and after a week of use i had lost a litre of oil into my intercooler. I ended up getting new seals and bearings put in the new 2nd hand turbo i bought, and ive been running it for about a month now and so far it hasnt leaked a drop of oil.
