You've got a car with cap and rotor...
I'd check the plug gap every 10-12K miles. I'd replace the plugs if they look worn, or every 25K. I'd inspect the cap and rotor on the same interval, and replace if they look worn.
I'd replace the spark plug wires every three years.
I'd check the timing every 3 months - easy to do. I'd do that until I knew how well the engine holds timing. Some engines hold timing for years; others drift. If it holds timing well, that time can space out.
Other items - air filter every 20-25K miles. Fuel filter every 25-30K miles. Don't forget the cabin air filter - Inspect once a year, change every two, unless it needs it sooner.
Every two years - flush brake fluid, coolant, and replace thermostat
Engine oil - this is the holy grail, and I won't get into the various arguments. Let it be said that I'm a great believer in using dino oil, and changing it and the filter every 3K, 5K miles MAX.
