It takes three things for the engine to run - air, fuel, spark. If the engine is turning over, it should be pulling in air. Of course, make sure the air filter isn't clogged, and the hoses aren't clogged (or have fallen off).

Fuel. After trying to start the car, pull the spark plugs. Are they wet with fuel? If not, then no fuel is flowing. That can be because the fuel pump isn't running. That can be due to a dead fuel pump, or a bad fuel pump relay, or a bad crank position sensor - it checks to see if the engine is spinning, and turns off the fuel pump if it thinks it isn't. But it does allow some running.

At a minimum, open the trunk, and while someone turns the key to ON, listen at the floor of the trunk, by the back seats, on the driver's side. That's where the fuel pump is. You should at least hear a Buzz for a few seconds there. No buzz, it may be the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay.

Take a piece of wire, and jumper from fuses 14 to 22. You should hear the pump run, no matter even if the key is OFF. If you don't hear the pump (and the fuses are good), then chances are the fuel pump is bad. If it does run, it may be the fuel pump relay, ecu, or Crank position sensor (CPS).

What if you do get fuel? Then it can easily be the DI (Direct Ignition) cassette on the top of the engine. Unscrew the four bolts, flip it over. Get four spark plugs and stick them into the boots. Get some wire, preferably with clip leads, and clip the body (ground )of each plug to chassis ground - any chunk of metal on the engine will do. It is CRITICAL that each boot have a plug, and that each plug has a ground wire. Turn the car over. Each plug should spark. If it doesn't, try a replacement DI.

The most likely no-start but does turn over for your car would be (1) a bad fuel pump, and (2) a bad DI cassette. ECU (Engine control computers), also known as an ECM (Engine Control Modules) do fail, but rarely. With the fuel pump, it is possible for the car to be perfectly fine, be shut off, and not start again at all. Same with the DI.
