Hi,

a couple of places. In the engine compartment on the drivers side fender there is a sticker about 4 x 4 that details the emissions capabilities of the car. it will have the MY on it.

in the drivers door jamb, near where the post is for latching, there is another sticker with the VIN and other information. it will have the MONTH and the YEAR in form. i.e. 1/94

also in the engine compartment on the passengers side near the top of the shock there is a sticker for the AC information (MY 1994 is the first to used R134) and it should say R134.

Lastly, right next to the above is a smaller metal tag with the VIN on it. this is also where changes to the car as deemed by SAAB, that have been done, get annotated. I forget the term, it's not ECO's (engineering change orders) but something similar.

I just visually checked this on my MY 1994 aero.

So, even though the guy doesn't have a camera... perhaps he can get his cell phone and you can prompt him to read all of the information from the above places to. you will be listening for the MY stuff, but don't prompt him on it, either placement or format.

Rather than tell him you are trying to confirm MY, perhaps you are trying to determine what factory updates had been done?? Helps in the value of the car, right? ;)
