You say you "know" you need to replace it, so why do you need to test it then if it is bad?
It is mounted behind crank pulley on right side of engine.
You need to remove plastic inner fender on right side and serpentine belt and crank pulley to get access.
The three pin connector is hidden around/above the alternator area on a 93 9000.
