Door Ajar & Alarm

I've posted before about the random alarm on my 97 CS. Lock doors with remote or key and minutes or even hours later the alarm goes off. The code readout says the drivers door set off the alarm. I replaced the switch on the door jamb but no change. Just yesterday, the instrument panel readout started showing the driver's door ajar when it is clearly shut. Does this additional info help diagnose the problem and point to a possible solution.
