Just an update.
The Car has been diagnosed and it don't look good. The timing chain has snapped (insert choice expletive here), going to be a couple of grand either to fix the chain or have a new moter put in, from what my local Saab guy has said there was no oil getting to the chain or tensioner beause the pessure was not enought to get it there, which he has said is due to varnishing around the oil pickup point in the sump, so if you do have the sump off for any reason clean the gauze over the pick up tube, it may save you in the future,Thanks again to those that posted advice. Now where did I put that stack of money................................
