be aware that you may need a new BPC solenoid/valve. This is the doohickey mounted on the top of the radiator with a black plug and 3 wires going to it and 3 hoses out.
It sounds like you went to overboost, then to base boost, which is one of the ways that unit fails. $200 at eEuro, 5 min install. Hopefully you just have a cracked hose someplace or maybe your wastegate rod needs a look-see.
