Thanks for the reply Ari. After I posted last night I spent some more time looking through the archives. I have tested the resistance of the BPC coils and the computer driving transistors before and will do it again.

The turbo was fine this morning! Last time when it failed that was it. This time it seems to over boost for a while and then be OK.

One thing I noticed this morning was that when at full boost it goes into the red and then back down into the hatching. It repeats this cycling and the resultant surging is noticeable. And I right in thinking that the control of boost should not be this noticeable. Does this point to something being wrong?

I have spent $4700 sorting out this car and just had the clutch done. I would love to get this BPC issue sorted out once and for all.
