removing the door panel to see inside at the lock mechanism is pretty easy... i'd say...
once you have it off, you can easily see any problems with the linkage inside the door, and get ready for the next steps you have to take.
I agree with david, that the actuator is working to some degree, however it could have an internal problem that causes it to bounce... the linkage may be fine, but the internal mechanism of the acutator isn't holding up...
best way to tell is remove the door panel and look. don't be afraid, there isn't much to harm here.
i also agree with david that the indicator light on the dash saying that the door is open is on a different circuit.
i don't think this circuit has anything to do with the alarm, although i could be wrong. this sensor can be found when you open the door, and look by the door hinge, towards the bottom of the inside edge of the door frame. there is a small rubber cylander... and this is the sensor that tells if the door is open. wiggle it around, and notice if the light on the dash comes on and off... also the door chime... mine have always been loose... but they usually never come on... even when the door is open. coming on when the door is closed is strange... that's where to look though.
if you need help removing the door panel... e-mail me or post on the board.
