As Bob S said, the no-start problem can be caused from wet spark plugs. Additionally, if the combusted gasses do pressurise the coolant system (a common symptom of bad head gasket) that excess pressure can cause coolant to seep into the cylinders once the engine is turned off. That can cause a water-lock issue with the cyclinders, causing the car to not only not start, but be unable to even turn over.
