Thanks very much for your reply. When I asked "what should I replace" I was wondering if I should replace the CV jnt. AND the drive shaft, or possibly just the joint. But since my first post I've looked through other CV joint-related posts here and it sounds like the simplest, least messy fix is to get a rebuilt drive shaft that already includes a CV joint. Then, I don't have to be concerned with separating those two components, either on the removal or the replacement.
