I've done several searches to get to the bottom of this...'95 9000 CSE 5speed 127K well maintained (125,000 dealer service 1 month ago)...all of a sudden it was hard to get into gear on start up, clutch felt normal, but car acted like you just shoved it gear without any clutch at all.
No fluid underneath trans, brake fluid level normal.
Then I got it in gear just fine and started out on a 200 mile ride home...clutch totally normal, shifting all 5 speeds totally normal. Until slowing for a stop sign, car acted like I had forgotten to put clutch in, even though I had it in..hard shift then into neutral and a bit of work to get it back in gear again..then clutch and trans normal again, but only used 3rd, 4th and 5th the rest of the way, rolling through stop signs in 3rd. I should say that a few of the 4th - 3rd downshifts were a bit rough, but upshifts were normal.
Anyway, called shop, they said probably master or slave...I had it towed down and am now waiting for a call with diagnosis.
What do you think? Right now I'm leaning towards linkage or TO Bearing because clutch action is normal...or could the master be failing to seal just enough to give normal pedal but insufficient pressure for slave?
