Five questions on my '96 SAAB 9000 CSE

My SAAB 9000 CSE has done over 125,000 miles.
1. There is a smell as if sugar is burning when I turn the heating on, though it does not always happen, but more often than not. I recently had the radiator belt replaced (I have no idea if there is a connection), but this smell permeates the car and our clothes when it happens. Any suggestions gratefully received.
2. I have a persistent problem in winter with the doors not closing when the temperature goes down below freezing. I would like to get it fixed completely before it gets really cold (it is mostly the two back doors, but sometimes the front doors too so it is getting to be a real problem). It does not happen with the trunk ever.
3. There is a noise that happens, a grinding noise as if metal is rubbing against metal, from the rear of the car. Any suggestions as to what I could ask the garage to look for with this. It seems to happen when the car is just started up and stops after driving for a few minutes.
4. I had a re-conditioned dip switch (the whole thing that fits on the left of the steering wheel) and a fuse replaced about a month or so ago. However, sometimes the brights come on of their own accord, and at other times have to turn the lights totally off (not good in the darkness of Northern Maine)in order to get the brights to light up. Any suggestions here?
5. Also have trouble with the locks. Sometimes not locking, sometimes locking. Cannot use the inside lock either to lock all the doors for safety. There is no problem with the trunk. So far.
Any help or advise will be most gratefully appreciated,
Mary
