It is a couple of traps that can get you into a lot more trouble than "just" changing the pump.
The two plastic nipples (feed and return) are just waiting for someone being just a little bit too rough and they will break with a snap.
It's not that big of a deal for me since I have both the tools and parts to repair the fuel line if need be but for someone doing it at home for the first time it can take a turn to the ugly.
The next problem is to remove the big lock ring over fuel pump and then figure out how to orient the new pump properly so that the level float doesn't bind.
A couple of hours at the most is the norm to replace the pump.
The suggested retail price is $524.59 for the pump so that might be what a shop charge you if they supply the part.
Many have replaced the pump themself so it all comes down to how good you are with tools.
