Power Steering pump bled out over night... Use Lucas??

Yesterday I noticed the steering cavitation noise on a 25 mile drive in my '88 9000T. The fluid was badly foamed, and overflowing. I removed the cap and let it sit for an hour or so and put the cap back on. It had leaked a big puddle during that hour. This morning there is a bigger puddle under it, so I assume that all the fluid drained out.
It looked like it was dripping off of the pump right below the pulley, so this could be a bad pump shaft seal, or a fitting leaking, and the fluid running down to that point to drip off.
My question is: Does this leak sound like its too big to try the Lucas steering stop leak? I've read good things about the lucas stuff, but it's like $6.50 per treatment, so I sure don't want it to just leak out!
Thanks in advance for any valuable advice!
