ngs?
Regardless of your own settings, the ACC should automatically set fan speed rate, face-floor-windscreen vents and rear window demister/outside mirror heaters depending on the outside temperature.
According to my 9000 cse –94 car manual, the ACC should ‘override’ any manual settings and start with low fan speed, windscreen vents (orange diode light) and rear window demister/outside mirror heaters on (orange diode light) in cold weather (outside temp below 6 C Gr?).
In warm weather (outside temp over 6 C Gr?), the ACC should start with high fan speed, face vents and rear window/outside mirror heaters off.
For the last 7 years my ACC has worked like this, but this winter the ACC starts up in ‘summer mode’ regardless of an outside temperature below 0 C Gr. (e.g. –5). The EDU shows correct outside temperature and I have tried recalibrating the ACC with no effect. I have also checked the specs of the inside cabin sensor (according to Townsend troubleshooting procedure) and found it to be correct. All functions (heat, fan speed, rear demister etc.) works perfectly when the panel buttons are operated manually.
The ACC gets it outside temperature pulses from the EDU and Townsend recommends testing for continuity between EDU and ACC, but before going into this, I really need to understand the basics of the ACC2 automatic settings and hope that someone on this board can throw some light on this.
I have searched this site and the Townsend’s site for information, but have not succeeded in finding a general description on how the ACC2 is supposed to work and react on sensor readings and user settings.
Thanks in advance
