You may be right about me needing the original 9000 wheel but why would that be? Technically my steering wheel is stock- just not to my column.
It seems to fit well, the airbag fits, the splines fit fine, the wheel has the socket for the clockspring pin. It is very possible that the 2004 95 wheel is dimensioned differently enough to somehow load up the clockspring housing incorrectly but the previous clockspring had been behind that wheel for at least 25k miles. I must be doing something wrong.
Are there any special tricks to installing this thing?
I'd much rather come to the conclusion that my hardware is wrong than that I installed it incorrectly
