Thanks for your post gene,
First of all, I'm actually excited to get rid of the di/apc system. Thank god.
I'm one of those unlucky people who had problems with almost every component of it.
I've had the cps go bad once or twice, I've had Di cassettes die on me, I've had mystery computer problems, I've had mystery sensor problems ending up with bad knock sensor connections, bad overboost pressure sensor connections, and bpc solenoids messing up...
not to mention the sheer difficulty finding people that can actually help modify and tune the system... Jak stoll did an amazing job when i visited him, however it was a 15 hour 1 way trip for me...
So all in all... I'm ready to go back to an easier to deal with distributor system for a while, until I get enough information and money to attempt a stand alone system that i feel comfortable enough to work on and tune myself.
Unfortunately, I'll never know how much power i was making with the tuned di/apc job I had from jak stoll. I assume it was over 200hp. It was very nice. At it's peak performance I was boosting to 20psi.
So as long as the knock sensor bolts in the same place, I should be good. If i find aaron I'll ask him. We've done similar work to our 9000's in the past as well, such as auto to 5-speed swaps and such. Kinda funny.
If anyone else has any info, it would be appretiated. TIA
-gavin
