Would be interested to know your typical cruising speed to get over 30 mpg. On our motorways I normally hold about 78, though I can seldom use cruise because there's too much traffic and everyone keeps changing lanes the way our "Highway Code" still tells us to.

If I cut the cruising speed to 55 or 60 I can certainly imagine getting your figures. Too much to hope that Montana speed limit is still "reasonable and prudent"...

I agree Collin's mileage seems poor and hope he finds something to blame. I put some of my thirst down to sticky tyres (mix of F1s and S-03s in 205/55-16) - if I ran something slippery and nasty with lower rolling resistance in 195-60 on 15" wheels and pumped them up like Arnie's biceps maybe I'd save fuel but frankly, no, I'm not going to do that.

The Pirelli 6000 used to be a decent compromise but I found they got a bit slippy when more than half-worn.

I love that photo - but I could tell you where to buy some clear corners... ;o)
