I live in Seattle. I can't even get up past 60mph due to traffic. The rpm gauge is always in the green econo region. I probably average 60mph. My commutes are 15 minutes going 60mph on the freeway. I think I am on the low end of what is normal. I bet there are some improvements I can make. Like I said, I am only getting 240 miles per 15 gallons of gas. Comparable to a newer suv.
Now, if I take a 2 or 3 hour drive somewhere and back, I can get 340 miles per 15 gallons of gas. I think it gets pretty good mileage if I take long freeway trips. It's the short freeway or town driving that gets it. Right now the needle is below 1/4 tank and I have 196 miles on it. I hope it gets to 240 miles this tank!
You would think that I would get a code of some sort if the O2 or one of the sensors wasn't working to spec.
