A neighbor down the road backed her 89T into a moving fuel truck the other day. She was able to drive it home. I went to take a look at it yesterday. The axle's bent and the hatch is jammed. I wasn't able to get underneath in the mud or open the back, but it looks like the impact put a very mild kink across the rear of the shock towers. An adjuster would probably total it.
They love the car, though, and when not ramming fuel trucks, just use it for short, low speed trips. I don't think the front control arm mounts were affected at all, so another rear suspension would likely track straight. I'm a little dubious about them fixing it(her brother would probably do the work when he returns from a trip), but they asked me for my advice, and as a fellow member of the eccentric squarehead contingent around here, I have to keep the faith.
