Cut downpipe? Can't get to Transmission Bolt

So, after almost giving up several times due to rust. I can't get the Bottom transmission bolt loose. AND now I'm worried that I won't be able to re-align everything when it comes time to put it back. I can't get any of the down pipe bolts loose (although I can only really reach the top front at this point) after 24 hours of PB penetrating lube sitting on it and 4 different times attempting to budge the down pipe.
My advice NEVER EVER by a northern car. :-)
So do I take out the AC and hope I can break the bolts on DownPipe that looks like it might bust from rust anyway? Has anyone just sawed it off at the cat and had it rewelded? Should I do the Yaofeng thing and remove the whole engine? I'm feeling down, it looks impossible at this point.
