The headlamp bulbs for my 1997 UK-spec car are 55 watt H1 for both high and low beams. Nobody over here calls them "E-code" but if you mean the same headlamps as they have on European cars, that's probably it! If still in doubt, may be best to call Thesaabsite and ask them to confirm what bulbs are required, plus the maximum wattage.
Nixter's '92 presumably has the older-style headlamps because the CD body-style adopted the CS nose later on, in '95 I think - that's why it uses H4 dual-filament bulbs.
Afraid this probably means you can't use the 9005 and 9006 in the E-codes.
