the auto in my daughter's '95 CS has had minimal maintenance but is still pretty nice at 145K. With a FPT it'd be a nice car. Still nothing like my 5 spd "96 CSE, but it'd be fine.
And FWIW, people complain about the 9K tranny being weak, but go talk to your local AAMCO guy and he'll tell you that lots of cars these days have weak trannies. Ford, GM and Chrysler have some real horror stories and the AAMCO guy who did the tranny on our former Exploder said you really don't want a Volvo Cross-Country after about 100K miles unless you have $5K to spend for the tranny rebuild.
