Hi,my 9000 Aero MY97 suddenly lost all power (engine sut down) whilst on cruise control and crusing at freeway speed - around 11:00pm in the evening!!!! :-( . I pulled over to grass verge to do some checks. car would not start. Engine would turn over but not fire. Checked for any oil leaks, fuel leaks, checked all main/relevant fuses (including fuel pump) all OK. Bugger! So spent night in the car and reviewed again at first light.Still no start. So organise a tow to nearest main town. I am thinking DI cassette (car has done approx. 130,000 miles) but could also be fuel system - pump???. etc.Friend brings spare DI (Red) after 2 hour trip. Still will not start.Turn engine over and check exhaust for fuel smell. No fuel smell. Now seriously suspecting fuel pump. Loosen nut of fuel line into fuel rail. No characteristic spray of fuel under pressure. With nut loosened I turn engine over.No fuel spray or sign of pressure. Is this most likely fuel pump problem? If so can I buy just the pump insert rather than whole (expensive) assembly? What do I need to know about DIY replacement procedures? Finally, are there any other parts that I should check/replace - have seen some forum stuff about the fuel check valve?? Urgent assistance appreciated. Thnx in advance. Tony
