As I understand it, fuse 5 is there mostly to protect the ECU should you have problems with the BPC valve. Unfortunately it doesn't always work as it should and a faulty BPC valve can soon fry the transistors on your ECU. In your case, however, it seems that the BPC valve and the ECU are both functioning as they should. Perhaps there was some dirt stuck in the BPC valve that stuck it open or closed and this blew fuse 5? The dirt is now gone and everything is hunkydory...that's a nice theory anyway (whether it has any technical merit I will leave for the boost experts here).
The psssshhh sound is normal - that's the hooter valve dumping pressure.
