I just converted my 92 non-turbo 9000CD to 134a. Its been working fine for several weeks now and the weather has been hot. My thoughts are that you might have a leak you have not seen. You need to take the cover off the compartment in front of the firewall to see if the evaporator or expansion valve is leaking. The accumulator is also rather low and under the compressor, so you might not see a leak there. The lower hose connection on the condenser is not easy to see from above. I also had a leaking hose coming off the compressor that needed to be replaced. I took all of the connections apart, replaced the o-rings, accumulator, and expansion valve. I think it helps to be thorough when doing a conversion because you may have several leaks and higher pressures related to 134a might bring them out. I like my 9000 so I was willing to spend a couple hundred dollars and a couple of days on the conversion. I also flushed the lines with some flush solvent from NAPA while I had them apart. Of course I drained the oil from the compressor and replaced it with the oil (PAG46) recommended by the compressor manufacturer, Sanden. I guess sometimes you can get by with a quick conversion, but if that doesn't work you need to be more thorough. Check: http://townsendimports.com/Web/climate_control_folder/ac_retro.htm
for complete instructions. The other possibility that I did not mention is a leaking compressor seal, but the dye should identify that.
