My daughter brought back the 89s(256k) after another winter of marination in salt. Rust on the doors and fender wells is pretty bad and the windshield is cracked, but I drove it this afternoon and it runs and handles well. As much as I like turbo passing power on two lane roads, for normal driving I prefer the tip in throttle response and lower gear ratios of the na. I haven't noticed much difference in highway cruising mileage between it and my 88t if I keep my foot out of it.
Inspection is due the end of this month. I could 1. put on body parts off my 88s parts car and buy a windshield, or 2. put the running gear from the 89 onto the 88s, or 3. just strip both of them for parts for the 88T, and scrap the carcasses.
Or is it time to move on from old 9000s?
