It's just that it's not as involved/difficult as many think and it is certainly doable, provided one does one's homework, and, as you mentioned, has some technical know-how. You don't need to rebuild the engine, the basic engine is the same except for the pistons, and the cams need to be changed to reduce the dynamic compression ratio. No need to worry about detonation, even with FPT as the APC will reduce boost/timing. Electrically, the connectors etc... are already in place, but you may need to add a wire or two. Anyway, to make a long story short, it can be done and it's not as difficult as some might think, but it's also not easy. There are those that really do not want to part with their beloved N/A 9000 so buying a 9000 turbo is out of the question for them (except to use in the conversion).
