BPC valve flakiness

I just went through 3 BPC valves on my 94 Aero - and I'm kinda tired of buying a new one each time ($200+). I'm wondering if it's my car that's killing the valves (it has no mods - stock air filter, etc...), or if the ones I'm buying are just crappy (I've bought a new, Genuine Saab one each time).
The symptom is that I get base boost each time one dies - when I replace it with a new one, boost is back to normal. I opened one up, and found that the center floating disc inside it was cracked. Each one that has failed on me has had the correct resistance reading across the pins (3 Ohms).
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
