That's why most Saabs have turbochargers

Small engines work just fine with a turbo attached. Even a light pressure turbo does wonders for a 3300 pound car like a 9000. There's big difference between a 150 hp NA 9000 and even a light pressure one with 170 hp. And a huge difference between the NA or LPT and the full pressure motor. I have both an LPT and FPT.
I also look at it the opposite way as you do: unless you have to tow a boat or something heavy, why would anyone want or need more than 4 turbocharged cylinders?
As for the seats, if you have manual seats you get the knob. My daughter's 9K has this. This is Euro vs Japan/US practices, Euro cars usually having a knob that you turn. But it's also personal preference. I hate the lever type of back rest handle you find on domestic and Asian cars. Not enough settings. The knob is much better, IMHO.
