The part number called out is for the ignition switch contacts - the actual switch part that makes electrical contact. I'm pretty sure that the spring part is in the lock barrel assembly, which the ignition switch contact attaches to. I just replaced the ignition switch contacts a few weeks back, and I don't remember a spring action in the switch contact assembly. I'll have to check the old one when I get home tonight to be sure. If I'm wrong, sorry for the delay, or maybe someone else can chime in.

If the spring is in the barrel, you don't need to change keys. The tumbler assembly just comes out. I don't see the spring on the Saab EPC, so I'm not sure what to do about that.

If the spring is in the contacts, then it is an easy, quick fix.
