Hello all,

After replacing the accumulator spring and adjusting the kickdown cable (and band) on my 1998 9000 (120,000 miles) I finally bit the bullet and bought a new control unit/valve body. The box was rebuilt at 100,000 miles and at the time I was told that the valve body might need overhauling or replacing.

While the top is off the box I plan to replace the kickdown cable as well - that looks to be pretty straightforward from what I've read here. And once everything is back together I'll change the fuild a couple of times too.

So, I'm familiar with the valve body removal and replacement techniques from when I did the accumulator spring but I'm wondering, does a brand new valve body need any special attention?
