The 9000 CS/CSE worked well with 205/60-15 tires. IMHO, 195 is too narrow a tire for that car, considering its weight. I'd also recommend Tire Rack, and you can find an agreeable tire installer in your area from off the Tire Rack website.
I also suspect a spark plug issue, if you've had 3 DI cassettes. You should re-gap your plugs every 10K to 15K miles. I would recommend 1.0 mm, only NGK. Allowing the gap to widen results in rapid DI cassette failure. I bought my '91 9kt in 2000 and had to replace the DI cassette right away, but not at all since, as I've kept an eye on the plugs. It's easy.
You mentioned that the car has been an electrical nightmare. Nightmare to me means a baffling diagnostic dilemma, that defies a solution. What other electrical problems have you had? I have had 3 9000's, without any significant electrical problems.
