the hose to the MAP transducer doesn't go though the firewall, just to the transducer. That's it - you can see two other lines heading back round the manifold and down the firewall but these come from the fuel rail and are fuel lines, not vacuum/pressure hoses.

Sorry - see that I wrote "blow-off gauge" when I meant "blow-off valve", which will have muddied the waters. Actually, it doesn't so much blow off as dump/recirculate back into the system. It can be another source of leaks both internally at at connections. So whatever else you do, I suggest you replace the thin hose leading from the Y-piece to this valve, because it deteriorates with heat, becomes brittle and leaks for a pastime.
