Ken, here's the latest, I removed all bolts and the bell housing bolts in the back were a bitch. I had to disconnect the exhaust from the turbo to get at one. I got a bottle jack and a 4X4 to support the engine and used two motorcycle tyedowns to rig the trans and connected it to a cherrypicker. I moved the trans to the left to clear everything and then lowered it down to the ground and pulled it out then put it on a furniture dolly. I was ready for the grese from the CV joint with zip lock bags and cable ties so the mess was keep to a minimun. Like you said the other axel just slip out. Now, I opened the trans and found the end baring (left side) had totally gone. The case harding on the rollers were flacking off and the race also was very bad. I took one clutch pack apart and it looks ok, but have new ones comming. Also had to recall Erkisson to order new barings. I have a week to clean up everything and get ready for the parts. Knock on wood, it does not look too difficult to reassemble. I have been very carefull to keep everything in order. Also I pinched one of the governor seals when I replaced them so will be more carefull putting in the new ones. To be continued!!
