I bought my daughter a 96 9000 CSE about a year ago and it had 96K miles. I replaced the turbo and also replaced the govenor seals in the trans and made it a very nice car for her. Well, I just couldn't leave good enought along. I saw a 97 9000 CSE on Ebay local with only 50K miles so I bought it for $3500. Paint and guts are like new. When I test drove it I felt a trans problem, but though I could fix it with seals. After replacing the seals, still big problems. After hot, only reverse. I called Nath at Erkisson and after a long talk ordered a valve body, seal kit, frichion kit, and rebuilt pump and shaft. Now, I have never pulled a trans out of a side engine car. I though I would up date this posting every day until I finish the job or give up to help or hurt some one thinging about doing this. This afternoon I removed driver front wheel, inter fender cover, trans oil, and started to remove front frame member. It is getting dark and lots of smoke from all these SoCal fires, so more tomorrow.
