From experience (1991 turbo), I can tell you that I bent 6 valves when it happened to me--4 intake and 2 exhaust. All the valve guides were fine, but I used the opportunity to check balance shaft crank gear, and of course, it was toast. So for me, it added up to 6 valves, timing chain kit, balance shaft chain and crank gear, head gasket set, and machine shop work on the head. Pull the the timing cover off to check the oil pump for any loose bits, and pull the oil pan off to empty the stray bits of chain out of the sump.
As you go along, you will have the temptation to say "while I have it apart, why don't I just replace X". Balance that off with how long you expect to keep the car, and what you think the car is worth. I probably replaced about $400 more of miscellaneous items. Some, like a leaking front motor mount, would have to have been replaced sooner or later, while others, like the water pump, were based on its age and how easy it was to get at with everything off of the engine.
