Installed new DI and this fixed P0130 P0133?

At 100k miles, I upgraded my 96 Aero to SQR Stage 4 with JSP 3" turbo back exhaust. Ever since doing this, whenever I do very hard pulls, I would see the MIL light come on. The codes were P0130 and P0133. From other posts, I thought that I had exhaust leaks. I had a muffler shop weld the exhaust together. My indy also told me that I should install a new exhaust manifold gasket. Anyways, I didn't do fix the exh manifold, nor replace any O2 sensors. I did replace spark plugs, but same old MIL Light. After awhile the MIL light will go away on its own.
So now an intersting thing happens. My DI cassette dies and I replace it with a brand new one from EUP. Now the MIL light doesn't come on even with a month of hard pulls. The car feels very strong again. I do see the codes still stored but no more MIL light. However, I think the codes will eventually be cleared.
I'm writing this because I've seen other similar posts where guys have had the same P codes and blamed it on the exhaust or tuner. Maybe the codes never had anything to do with exhaust leaks at all and was a sign of a dying DI??
