i know what your talking about i had the same problem one time with that same hose it one of your heater hoses. what i did when i had this happen to me it split right next to the clamp and i was on the road luckily not far from home. so i went home let it cool down because anti freeze runs through it and i cut the hose right behind the split and put back on the nipple and made the clamp pretty tight this might work for you and it may not. by the way if you are to go this rought if your split is as close as mine was be cafefull cuz alot of coolant will come out when you pull that hose off.

Far as changing it you dont have to take the dash apart, that part of the fire wall that that hose runs in to is false someone on hear would be able to explain it better than i can but it comes off and you can get to your wiper motor,your computer and some other things also. or do a search on hear its called the false bulk head. i can show better than i can explain hope i helped.
