Had the same problem last month. First you need to remove the grill. There a 2 torx screws holding it from the top each about 5 to 6 inches from the edge. They are hidden by the rubber gasget that hangs off the hood. Next tilt the grill forward it pivots from the bottom by pulling slightly upward and outward. There is a plastic tab in the top middle of the grill that hangs up a little but it can be persuaded out. You should now be able to see the thin wire cable that operates the hood release mechanisms. It runs behind the grill and a half an inch under the hood. There are two release mechanism each located 1 1/2 to 2 inches from the edge of the grill. They move laterally from left to right (toward the drivers side) when you pull the release lever. I got mine to pop by hooking a wire about the same diameter as a coat hanger into these and pulling them simultaneously. Hope this helps.
