Just picked up a 93 9000 non-turbo. I use it for highway driving mostly, when I get back in town from work I usually make a couple stops before going home, and when I restart the car, it will shake noticeably at idle. At this point it will idle at 1K, then slowly increase to about 1100rpm's at which point the shaking goes away. It does not do this when the engine is cold. It seems to me also that the engine is hesitating or misfiring under load after the engine is warmed up, but this is very slight and may be my imagination. Extensive work was done to the car before I bought it including replaced DI and plugs by a reputable indy shop. I do not get a CEL.
Been doing some research here regarding rough idle/hesitation and have since been putting in 93 octane gas with no change and driving with a full tank as much as possible. Have not managed to check the spark plugs for gap or manufacturer. I believe the fuel filter was replaced already.
I've been getting approximately 26mpg (not imperial gallons) combined, mostly highway and this seems like it is lower than what other people are reporting; I get 27-28mpg in my non-turbo 900 for the same driving with 87 octane.
Any suggestions on the rough idle? Is the mileage reasonable?
