I would appreciate the test procedure or any resources you have and think may be relevant. I'm starting to split hairs :). I can find a way to get you my e-mail if you need it.
When I said my new valve was 40ohm I mean it was in the 40ohm range like all the others valves I have. None of the valves I have (two from other cars, one from mine) are 28 ohms.
My valves measured - 45.8, 45.7, and 46.1 respectively.
I'm not sure where pins 5 and 6 came from. I'm measuring resistance across the two male pins that are on the valve itself, not a connector or anything.
Do you have any info as to where the wires go from the evap valve?
I'm wondering if the two wires split and one of the split wires are bad/disconnected. For example: Maybe one wire goes to the ignition for +12 the car is on. The other wire goes to the ECU for grounding and splits somewhere, and another connection to the ECU is made for the check engine light.
2 times 26 is 52, and no it's not double either. :P I'm just messing around. This is a strange one given the info I have and the tests I've done.
