Before starting, are you sure that it's the rack that is loose, and not the balljoints, rack bushings, controla arm bushings, strut bearings, etc.?
I have not done this on my 9000. On a previous C900, I had the rack replaced with a rebuilt and the steering was much looser than the original, so I considered the procedure that you are thinking about, but couldn't find a spec.
If you are going to do this, I hope that you can find a spec for the 9000. I made this adjustment blindly on my old Alfa Spider (ZF conventional steering box) and initially overtightened it - which made the steering much worse. An experienced alignment shop "straightened me out" (loosened the adjustment) when I brought the car in for alignment work after I replaced the six(!) tie rod ends and idler arm bushing.
