and a pair of seal rings if you've got a turbo (the banjo bolt connection on the backside of the pump).
One O-ring seals the connection to the small pipe that runs on the side of the block - by the tensioner.
There are 2 (one on each end of a short pipe) that gets sandwiched between the pump body and the block.
If any of those were leaking, you might see some whitish evidence.
If the shaft seals are going - time for a new pump.
You should see some wobble in the pulley - and hear a rumble - if the shaft seal is starting to go. But I don't think you'd see any evidence of a leak.
