Hey everyone,

I just did some work on my car that has pretty much gotten me nowhere this last weekend. In fact, I'm pretty sure it has gotten worse! I need some insight... I'm trying to decide on whether to repair this one or just let it go for parts or whatever and move on. Like to an aero.

About a week ago, the clutch began disengaging lower and lower in the pedal travel. So I gave it a good bleeding. The fluid in the system pretty much came out black initially, with a bunch of air. After a while, it ran clear clutch up and clutch down, and felt solid with quasi's pointers. But alas, it was a very temporary fix. Within a couple of days, I was having trouble getting the clutch to disengage at all. So I'm thinking, hmmmm... bad clutch master. So I go ahead and order the part.

So off I go and tear in there, cuss at it (more on this later), replace it (think chinese jigsaw puzzle), bleed it... and there's some strange gurgling noise. Not like when I bled it before. Hmmm, must be more air. And the clutch became WAY stiff. Still worked (kinda), but way stiff. Still wouldn't disengage easily and stay disengaged.

Then I was wondering why air bubbles were STILL traveling up the tube attached to the bleed nipple when it was closed, and pressure off the bleeder. What the poo? Rechecked and it was tight. Still bubbles. Reservoir just about filled to the top.

Then I looked under the car... and had a very fast drip/running leak off the tranny housing. Two of my $2.99 bottles of Prestone DOT4 on the garage floor. I wanted to cry. I'm assuming it's the slave. I don't think that's a job I can do. But how did it leak out of the transmission case? Help.

Additionally, I have some other delayed discrepancies on the car, and would really appreciate your help in deciding my next move, as my emotional ties to it are ridiculous. I picked it up from the dealer when I was 12 with my dad and he handed it off to me when I graduated college. Anyway, I digress...

- Non-functional clutch, but brand new master cylinder and fresh DOT4
- Leaks out about a 1/2 quart of oil a week, mostly commuting and daily driving. Not quite sure from where. I wipe, but it seems to be coming from... uhhh...
- Power steering rack quite leaky and way noisy on startup on cold days.
- Potential head gasket issues, rough start and idle if it sits for a few days, coolant level declining very very slowly.
- Bolt broke off turbo (you know... 2 out of 3 isn't bad!)
- Dented quarter panel from a hit and run
- Other quarter panel mangled from when wheel departed vehicle while driving
- A/C leaks, but not that fast. Needs about a seasonal recharge.

So, that's where I'm at. Everyone on this bb has been tops since I've been on it (circa 1999), and I'd really appreciate anyone's insight on any of the above topics! Thanks so much!
